Longtime in the making, but finally Prince Chamba is back on a fresh Lion’s Den 12inch.
An old rootikal riddim from the Lion’s Den studio was brought fully to life with the spices of some real musicians, a powerful vocal and a tuff mix: the militant drums of Fabrizio Dettori from Italy, the rumbling bassline played by Oulda (one half of Wise Rockers) from France, the beautiful piano of Berlin’s own Jon Moon and last but not least some additional guitar overdubs and a full proper mix by Petah Sunday.
Here comes Prince Chamba’s ‘The Great Day’, a heartical and humble praise song, a spiritual chant seeking for guidance in those troubled times. And Jon Moon’s ‘Upful Trods’, a piano instrumental cut, grooving along à la reggae meets jazz, brightening up your day, whenever you press play…
Transferred to 1/2inch tape, mastered and cut by Star Delta in the UK and served with deep dub versions out of the I-tal Soup Studio, Italy.

Money don’t work. It is the people doing work.

We want a world where work pays off. And simply having money does not.

Stop the exploitation. Tax the rich. Power to the people.

When investments, speculations and stock portfolios create big returns, somewhere people and/or natural resources are exploited. Almost every time.

This raw and unpolished steppa dub hymn emerges directly from the Hamburg underground sound system scene and carries this important message. First chanted live in session by Knilch Snibbles on a fresh Jan Solid riddim. Then recorded as a dubplate special in Soon Come Studio and exclusively played by Solid Mojo and Lion’s Den in session.

We’re happy to share the vibes and message now and give this one a proper release on vinyl.

Give thanks for the support!

- Jan Solid
